NOZA in the Wall Street Journal

Great article today in the Wall Street Journal entitled “Wall Street’s Good Side Has Strings, Of Course. ” NOZA was pleased to work with the researchers from the Wall Street Journal to provide philanthropy data on the subjects of the story, which included charitable giving information for Wall Street heavyweights such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, AIG, Hank Greenberg, Lloyd Blankfein, John Reed, and Citigroup.

While it is important to celebrate the impact of the philanthropy of Corporate America, it also warrants mentioning that of the $300 Billion or so donated to U.S. charities each year, corporations only accounted for 5% of this giving (compared to 13% from foundations, and more than 80% from individuals).  The real challenge for Wall Street and U.S. businesses is to accelerate their philanthropic efforts and become a more significant player in the U.S.charitable giving landscape.
