I recently came across a GREAT blog by Marc A. Pitman, the author of Ask Without Fear! and founder of Fundraisingcoach.com. The blog is titled, Do you know what REALLY bugs your donors? and Pitman writes of an open-ended question he posed on LinkedIn.com. He asked people what really annoys them about charitable giving, and what causes people to stop giving to an organization. He has over 60 responses already and provides links to the responses on his blog. The answers are extremely valuable to nonprofits. You can gather some insightful comments and invaluable information about what donors are thinking, what to avoid and how to cultivate better (less annoying) relationships. And, more importantly- learn what NOT to do!

Go and read the blog and the answers to Pitman's question- you won't regret it!

PS- Pitman also allows you, as a donor, to answer the question... so if you have a pet-peeve you want to share, leave your comment. You could be helping nonprofits as a result!
