North Carolina AFP conference urges fundraisers to persevere through weak economy

According to an article by the Philanthropy Journal, the general message at North Carolina's state AFP conference was for fundraisers to stick it out during the tough economic times. In fact, the expert fundraisers went so far as to say that now is the time to ask. 

The article mentions that fundraising consultant Bob Hartsook said nonprofits who did not ask during previous economic downturns "got a shock when other organizations received bigger and better donations."

The point is- don't be shy. People give when asked.
